Using the Face It Feature in the Connect IQ Store App

Face It® watch face app is a feature found in the the Connect IQ™ store app that allows you to create your own watch face on compatible Garmin® watches.

NOTE: The Always On Display setting is not compatible with custom Face It watch faces.

Creating a Face It Watch Face:

NOTE: Some models may display a message "Put your watch face here with Face It!" on the screen of the watch when you are actively creating or editing inside Face It. 

  1. Open the Connect IQ Store app on your mobile device.

  2. Select Face it from the bottom menu.

  3. Select Add FaceIt.

  4. Select an option:

    • Photos - to bring up the photo gallery on your phone.

    • Camera - to take a photo with your phone.

    • Preset Backgrounds - to choose from our pre-installed options. Available on select models.

  5. Allow Access, if prompted.

  6. After you select a photo or preset background, you will move onto our layout options.

    NOTE: Photos used with Face It are not uploaded to or stored in any Garmin cloud service. Photos remain on your mobile device and are transferred directly to your watch.

  7. Layout allows you to choose how time and optional data is displayed on the watch face.

    • Select models allow color customization of the Time, Date, and other Data based on the Layout you choose.

  8. When you are done customizing, select Done or Save.

  9. Enter a Watch Face Name.

  10. Select Save.

  11. Select Install Install ConnectIQ Iconwhen you are ready to add the Face It watch face to your watch.

  12. Sync your device with the Garmin Connect™ app.

    • Devices with the high-resolution AMOLED screen may take up to 30 minutes to complete the syncing process.

  13. Refer to your owner's manual for steps on enabling the watch face.

Only one Face It watch face can be sent to a device at a time. You can create a gallery of Face It watch faces in the Connect IQ store app and sync your watch when ready to install a new one. 


Edit or Delete a Face It Watch Face:

  1. Open the Connect IQ Store app.

  2. Select Face It.

  3. Select the three dots Three dots stacked vertically  (top right).

  4. Select Edit or Delete.

NOTE: Deleting the Face It watch face inside the Connect IQ Store app will not remove it from your watch if it is currently set as your watch face. To remove from your watch completely, see uninstalling options below.
