(2005) Service Advisory 0520 Rev A: G1000 LRU Software Upload Recommendations

PURPOSE

This Service Advisory offers recommendations on how to correct an incomplete G1000 Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) software upload.

DESCRIPTION

Software uploads to a G1000 LRU may, on occasion, be incomplete due to an unintended canceling of the upload, or a G1000 communication failure taking place during the upload.

DISPOSITION

It is important to upload only LRU software that has changed. Refer to the G1000 Software Upload Page for software version information. The ‘File List’ section on the Software Upload Page displays the software version currently on the loader card, while the ‘LRU section’ on the Software Upload Page displays the current LRU software versions.

Do not cancel a software load that is in progress, especially on the GEA 71.

If the Primary Flight Display shows that an upload to an LRU has stopped before reaching 100%, the G1000 system will allow the installer to restart the upload procedure to the LRU multiple times until a successful upload is accomplished. If subsequent upload attempts are unsuccessful, cycle G1000 system power and restart the upload procedure. If an upload is still unsuccessful, remove the LRU that will not accept the upload and return it to Garmin for service.
