Deleted Data Reappearing on the Map After Syncing the Garmin Explore App

If you delete data from the Map page of the Garmin Explore™ website, and it eventually reappears, it is likely that same data is still on the handheld and being transferred back to the account through the Garmin Explore app after syncing. Data consists of waypoints, tracks, routes, activities, and courses.

To prevent this from happening, the data needs to be deleted from both the Map page and the associated inReach® handheld.

Deleting Data From the Garmin Explore Website and inReach® Satellite Communicator

IMPORTANT: Following these steps permanently deletes the data, and it will no longer be in the Garmin Explore account or the inReach handheld.


Deleting Data on the Garmin Explore Website

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select Map.

  3. Select Waypoints, TracksRoutesActivities, or Courses under Library.

  4. Select the item to be deleted.

  5. Select Trash Can Delete Icon.

  6. Select Delete to confirm.

Once finished deleting the data on the website, you need to delete it from the inReach handheld.


Deleting Data From a GPSMAP® 66i, 67i, 86i, or 86sci Handheld

  1. Press MENU twice to access the main menu.

  2. Select Waypoint Manager, Saved Tracks, Route Planner, Recorded Activities, or Course Planner.

  3. Select the item to be deleted.

  4. Press MENU.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. Select Delete again to confirm.


Deleting Data From an inReach Mini 2 Satellite Communicator

  1. From the home page, press OK to open the main menu.

  2. Select Saved.

  3. Select WaypointsCourses, or Activities.

  4. Select the item to be deleted.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. Select Yes to confirm.


Deleting Data From a Montana® 700i, 710i, 750i, or 760i Handheld

  1. Touch Home to access the main menu.

  2. Touch Waypoint ManagerSaved TracksRoute PlannerRecorded Activities, or Course Planner.

  3. Touch the item to be deleted.

  4. Touch 3 Lines Menu Symbol.

  5. Touch Delete.

  6. Touch Delete again to confirm.


Deleting Data From an Alpha® 200i Handheld

  1. If necessary, touch Home to access the main menu.

  2. Touch Waypoint Manager or Track Manager.

  3. Touch the item to be deleted.

  4. Touch 3 Lines Menu Symbol.

  5. Touch Delete.

  6. Touch Delete again to confirm.


Deleting Data From an Alpha® 300i Handheld

  1. Touch Home Icon to access the main menu.

  2. Touch Waypoint Manager or Track Manager.

  3. Touch the item to be deleted.

  4. Touch 3 Lines Menu Symbol.

  5. Touch Delete.

  6. Touch Delete again to confirm.


Once the above steps are completed, the data will no longer sync from the device back to the Map page of the Garmin Explore website.

To confirm that the data has been permanently deleted, sync the device.
