Outdoor Map Update Issues When Using a Mobile Hotspot, Tethering, or Slow Internet Connection
A home high-speed internet connection (Fiber, Cable, DSL, etc.) is required to successfully complete updates to TopoActive, Garmin Public Land Map,1 or City Navigator® 2 mapping on outdoor handhelds. Slower connections (e.g. satellite, fixed wireless, dial-up, etc.) and mobile broadband (e.g. MiFi, AirCard, hotspot, cell phone tethering, etc.) should not be used. If your map is missing and/or your device does not give the option to update the maps after a failed map update, see - Reinstalling Maps to an Outdoor Handheld.
