Setting an Activity Alert on a Garmin Watch
Most Garmin watches have a feature to set alerts for each activity. These can be helpful to train toward a specific goal, increase awareness of your environment, or navigate to a destination. Some alerts are only available for specific activities, and while using a structured workout; the workout alerts will take precedence over any custom alerts you have created, such as an Eat or Drink alert.

Setting an Alert
Each alert is specific to that activity, so this process will need to be repeated for each activity type you wish to create an alert for.
Hold UP/MENU (middle left button).
Scroll to or select Settings.
Select Activities or Activities & Apps.
Select an activity. NOTE: This feature may not be available for all activities.
Select the activity settings.
Select Alerts.
Select an option:
Select Add New to add a new alert.
Select an existing alert name to edit the alert.
If necessary, select the type of alert.
Select a zone, enter the minimum and maximum values, or enter a customer value for the alert.
If necessary, turn on the alert.
For event and recurring alerts, a message appears each time you reach the alert value. For range alerts, a message appears each time you exceed or drop below the specified range (minimum and maximum values).
Custom Alerts
Custom alerts can help remind you to perform specific actions during your activity. Choose from pre-loaded options, or create a unique alert. Custom alerts will be suspended during a structured workout, such as a Garmin Coach or custom workout.

Scroll to or select Settings.
Select Activities or Activities & Apps.
Select an activity. NOTE: This feature may not be available for all activities.
Select the activity settings.
Select Alerts.
Select Add New.
Select Custom and choose from:
Drink
Eat
Turn Around
Go Home
Custom NOTE: When selecting this option, a name must be created.
Select an Alert Type for:
Time
Distance
Set the time or distance amount.
Repeat steps 7-10 for adding a new custom alert.
Disabling or Removing an Alert
Hold UP/MENU (middle left button).
Scroll to or select Settings.
Select Activities or Activities & Apps.
Select an activity. NOTE: This feature may not be available for all activities.
