Using Practice Balls With Garmin Golf Launch Monitor Products

Garmin golf launch monitor products that are radar or camera based can determine golf metrics, such as club head speed, launch angle, and more, should be used with a regulation golf ball to receive the most accurate measurements. Using the same type of regulation golf ball that you would use at the course will give you the most accurate data.

Using plastic, foam, or other types of limited flight golf balls can lead to inconsistent, incorrect, or no metrics being displayed by the launch monitor. Limited flight golf balls generally will have a stripe around their center and display "Range" or "Practice." These types of balls will normally travel less distance compared a regular golf ball.
