Quest device is no longer providing audible navigation prompts

To have the Quest® device give you Navigation Prompts, you need to plug the device into a car power cable with integrated speaker. Without this car power cable, the only audio you would be able to get from the device would be Key Press Tones. If your device is currently plugged into the car power cable, you will also want to check your volume level, located on the car power/speaker cable.

If you have your cable plugged in and are not receiving audible prompts the voice files may need to be reloaded to the device.

To reload the voice prompts to the Quest or Quest 2:

  1. Go to the software downloads page for your device
  2. Click the Download link next to the appropriate voice language (Quest) or the audio software (Quest 2)
  3. Click the "I agree..." link at the bottom of the page
  4. Ensure that the Quest or Quest 2 is connected to the computer and turned on
  5. Read through the installation instructions at the bottom of the page before proceeding
  6. Click Download and follow the instructions

The voice guidance should now be restored to the Quest or Quest 2.
