View, Share, and Delete Dash Cam Videos on the Garmin DriveAssist™ 51 with the VIRB Mobile App on an iPhone

You can view, save, share, or delete dash cam videos and pictures taken from your device on your iPhone using the VIRB Mobile App. The VIRB Mobile App is a free application that will allow you to easily save or share videos/pictures taken with your Garmin DriveAssist™ 51 device. 

Note: iPhone version 10.0 or later is required.

Once you have the application downloaded and have some recorded video footage on your Garmin DriveAssist™ 51, you will need to set up a Wi-Fi connection between your device and the app on your phone.

Setting up the Connection on the Garmin Device:

1. Touch Apps

2. Touch Gallery

3. Touch Yes to confirm

4. Touch Share Gallery

Setting up the Connection on the iPhone:

1. Open the Settings on your iPhone

2. Touch Wi-Fi

3. Enable Wi-Fi

• • Skip this step if already enabled

4. Select the Network Name displayed on the Garmin device

5. Enter the Network Password displayed on the Garmin device

It may take about a minute to display all videos once connected.

To View a Video/Photo:

1. Launch the VIRB Mobile App

2. Select the desired video

3. Touch Play icon

To Share or Download a Video/Photo:

1. Select the desired video in the VIRB Mobile App

2. Touch the Share button (box with an up arrow)

3. Trim down the video as desired by touching and dragging the brackets on either side of the timeline at the bottom of the screen

• • Note: Trimming the video will not delete the original video

4. Touch Next

5. Touch the Upload/Share button (box with an up arrow coming out of it)

• • Touch the Download button (box with a down arrow going into it) to save the video/photo to the phone's gallery

6. Select the desired sharing method

You will have sharing options such as text, e-mail, Facebook, YouTube, and more.  

You can delete any selected video by pressing the trash can icon on the main screen of the VIRB Mobile App.

Note: If there is no unsaved footage recorded, or if the unsaved footage has been deleted, the following message will appear when touching Unsaved Footage in the VIRB Mobile App. 

"No Media to display with current filter. Show All Media"
