iOS Location Services Troubleshooting for the Garmin GLO Series

If you are using an iOS device and encounter a problem receiving location information from the Garmin GLO™ or GLO™ 2 sensor, follow the instructions below.

NOTE: Many iOS applications require location services to be enabled in order to receive GPS information from the GLO device.

Troubleshooting Location Service Issues

  1. Open Settings on the iOS device.

  2. Touch Privacy & Security.

  3. Touch Location Services.

  4. Toggle Location Services to Off.

    • This will turn off location services for all of your applications.

  5. Touch Turn Off.

  6. Restart your iOS device.

    • To restart, simultaneously press and hold the side button and either volume button until the sliders appear, then drag the Power Off slider. Once off, press the power button to turn your iOS device back on.

  7. Open Settings again.

  8. Touch Privacy & Security.

  9. Touch Location Services.

  10. Toggle Location Services to On.

  11. Ensure that any apps you wish to receive location data are set to either Always or While Using in the list below the Location Services toggle.

In order for the GLO sensor to receive a satellite signal it requires a clear view of the sky, so it is normal to encounter difficulty receiving a signal indoors. If you continue to experience issues, try leaving your iPhone/iPad connected to the Internet for a few hours (the screen can be off) after attempting the steps above.
