No Unlocked Maps Were Found for this Device in MapInstall

If you are getting "No Unlocked Maps Were Found For This Device" when the MapInstall™ program is opened, and maps have been installed to the computer, then it is likely due to the mapping installed to a separate drive.

To Resolve the Issue in Windows 10

  • The maps can be moved to the proper location on the C:\ drive.
  • A shortcut can be created.

In either case, C:\ThisPC\Windows(C:)\Users\%user name%\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps is the file path location that the maps will need to be moved to or the shortcut created at.

To create the shortcut:

  1. Right-mouse click in the maps folder listed above
  2. Select New
  3. Select Shortcut
  4. In the field under 'Type the location of the item:' type in D:\Maps\ and select the map product in the drop-down
  5. Click Next
  6. Click Finish

To Resolve the Issue in the Mac OSX

The map files will need to be moved to the main drive: Macintosh HD: Library: Application Support: Garmin: Maps
