NOTES:
The Remote Live View on the Garmin Drive app will be active for up to 5 minutes at a time. A new connection must be initiated to remotely view again.
The Garmin Dash Cam Live will continue recording while viewing the live camera feed.
This recording will have audio if audio recording is on, but there will be no audio when viewing the Live View.
Starting the Live View while connected to the Garmin Dash Cam Live via Bluetooth will not allow remote access. Once out of Bluetooth range, it will disconnect. Connecting this way will allow you to adjust the camera angle. For instructions, see Viewing Live Feed Video Using the Garmin Drive App.
The Live View can be seen in either portrait or landscape orientation by rotating the phone.
Remote Viewing Requirements:
Before you can view the Live View or the Vault remotely, the dash cam must have the following:
Connected to a constant power source
Connected to an internet-connected Wi‑Fi network, or have an active LTE subscription and be within an LTE coverage area
Many domestic vehicles already provide constant power; however, some vehicle makes/models do not so they will need a Garmin accessory cable for constant power.
Wi-Fi Connection
Examples include home Wi-Fi, work Wi-Fi, or in-vehicle Wi-Fi.
A maximum of 11 Wi-Fi networks can be configured for use with the Vault.
Live streaming generally requires a reliable 1 Mbps upload data rate.
Live View may not work with a poor internet connection or hot spot.
LTE Connection (Always Connected Option)
With an active LTE subscription, the Garmin Dash Cam Live provides the always-connected features described above over LTE cellular service.
Built-in LTE modem allows for cellular connectivity. Purchase an LTE subscription so you are always connected.
An LTE Service / Vault subscription bundle option can be purchased in the Garmin Drive app.
There is no need to contact a carrier. Signup in minutes through the Garmin Drive app.
