Force® Trolling Motor "Pedal Service Required" Error

If the error message "Pedal Service Required" appears on the Floating Remote or the paired compatible Garmin chartplotter, the following steps may resolve the issue:

  1. Update the Force® Trolling Motor software; see related content

  2. Replace the batteries of the Wireless Foot Pedal, or see step 3

  3. If powered directly by a 12V power cable, ensure the common ground connection between the ground on the trolling motor battery. Use fully charged batteries to power the trolling motor

  4. Restore the defaults of the trolling motor using the floating remote control by selecting the Menu button > Settings > Trolling Motor > Restore Defaults

NOTE: Restore Defaults require pairing the remote, foot pedal, and compatible Garmin chartplotter. In addition, the bow offset and compass calibration procedure will also need to be repeated. For the procedure, see Getting Started with Force Trolling Motor or the Owner's Manual for instructions

If "Pedal Service Required" continues to appear, the pedal may need to be replaced.
