Additional fees and taxes could apply to your inReach invoice as specified below.

Fed USF Cellular

The Universal Service Fund (USF) provides support to promote access to telecommunications services at reasonable rates for those living in rural and high-cost areas, income-eligible consumers, rural health care facilities, and schools and libraries. 

InReach  must contribute to the Federal USF based on a percentage of our interstate and international end-user telecommunications revenues.   This is assessed on your invoice as a small fee based on a percentage of your total bill.  This percentage is reviewed quarterly and will change based on the needs of this Federal fund and changes to inReach business (intrastate vs. interstate vs. international business).

Since this is a fee and not an actual tax you will get charged local sales tax on the USF Fee.

Sales Tax

InReach is required by law to collect any Federal, State and Local taxes.
