Viewing Live Video Using the Garmin Drive App

Live video footage can be viewed from your dash cam using the Garmin Drive™ app. The dash cam generates a Wi-Fi connection with the phone to display a live video feed so you can adjust the position of the camera. The standard distance the phone and dash cam can to remain connected is 30 feet. The Live View can be seen in either portrait or landscape orientation by rotating the phone.

To View the Live Video:

1. Pair your dash cam with your smartphone using the directions from the owner's manual of your device 

2. Touch Live View in the selected Vehicle

3. Touch Join or Connect

4. Select the dash cam you would like to view if you have multiple paired.

• • Your dash cam will now connect to the app. This can take a few minutes.

You will now be able to view the Live View on your phone. The Garmin Dash Cam Tandem will allow you to see the front or interior view.

NOTE: Recording and alerts are disabled on most Garmin Dash Cams while viewing live footage.

• The following dash cams will continue to record:

  • Garmin Dash Cam™ Live
  • Garmin Dash Cam™ 47
  • Garmin Dash Cam™ 57

  • Garmin Dash Cam™ Tandem

• The following devices will not continue to record:

  • Garmin Dash Cam™ 46
  • Garmin Dash Cam™ 56
  • Garmin Dash Cam™ 66W
  • Garmin Dash Cam™ Mini
  • Garmin Speak™ Plus
  • RV 785

The following devices can use the Live View feature remotely (when the dash cam is connected to an active Wi-Fi connection):
