Tray Support on Compatible Edge Models

The use of what Garmin calls Trays is not new to the Edge touch screen series. It was previously only available during a workout on the workout data screen.
Tray support is available on the following pages:

  • Map page

  • Power Guide page (not available on the Edge Explore 2)

  • Workout page (not available on the Edge Explore 2)

What is Tray Support and How is it Accessed?

This is a way of offering up control/configuration options for a page or feature that can be accessed by swiping up on the screen.

How Do I Know if a Page Has Tray Support?

When you first switch to a page, the tray icon Edge tray icon appears at the bottom of the page for the first few seconds you are on the page and then it clears.

Map Page Tray

The examples below show the map page right after landing on it and then a few moments after when the tray icon clears.

Accessing the tray on the map page reveals the following options.

One of the nice options here, is the ability to stop segments being drawn on the map without having to disable them.

Power Guide Tray

The tray for the Power Guide allows you to change the effort level.

The workout page tray displays the current and next steps of the workout. It also allows you to redo a step, pause, or skip a step.
