Managing Maps With the Garmin Explore App

Highly detailed topographic maps of North America, color aerial imagery (the US only), and detailed maps of the rest of the world can be downloaded for viewing and use in the Garmin Explore™ app. Use the steps below for managing and deleting maps.

Managing Maps

  1. Open the Garmin Explore app.
  2. Select Orange Unfolded Map Icon at the bottom of the app.
  3. Select Orange Icon of Three Stacked Layers in the top left of the app.
  4. Select Maps.
  5. Select the maps to be displayed.

Deleting Maps

Steps for deleting maps will vary slightly depending on the type of mobile device being used with the app.

Android 

  1. Open the Garmin Explore app.
  2. Select Orange Unfolded Map Icon at the bottom of the app.
  3. Select Orange Icon of Three Stacked Layers in the top left of the app.
  4. Select Maps.
  5. Select Gear next to the map type you wish to delete.
  6. Select Orange Trash Can next to any map to be deleted.

iOS

  1. Open the Garmin Explore app.
  2. Select Orange Unfolded Map Icon at the bottom of the app.
  3. Select Orange Icon of Three Stacked Layers in the top left of the app.
  4. Select Maps.
  5. Select Gear next to the map type you wish to delete.
  6. Select Edit.
  7. Select any map(s) to be deleted.
  8. Select Delete.
