Getting Started with Tracking on an inReach SE

Your inReach SE can track your progress throughout your trip. When you turn on Tracking, the inReach will send tracking points at intervals over time. While tracking information is not stored on the inReach SE to review, it can be used with MapShare to record and share your adventures.

Start Tracking with the inReach SE

From the home screen, select Tracking.
From the Tracking screen, select Start Tracking.
On the Tracking screen, you will be able to monitor the number of points sent, the time tracking began, and the most recent time a point was sent. At any time you can turn off tracking by selecting Stop Tracking.

These tracking points can also be used to show your progress to your friends and family using MapShare through the Explore website. Select Send a MapShare Link below for steps on sharing your track.

Send a MapShare link

Use Share to send friends and family a link to your MapShare page from the inReach. Just a like a regular message, select recipients, add message text, and Send. Garmin will automatically include a link (and include the password if you set one in the Explore site) to your MapShare web page in the email or SMS that your recipient receives.
