Shimano STEPS eBike System and Garmin Device Compatibility

Select Garmin devices can be connected to a Shimano STEPS eBike system in order to provide information wirelessly about the system status and warning messages. You can also view your assist level, gear position, battery life and remaining range during a ride.

Software Must Be Up to Date on the Device

Software updates can be downloaded and installed using our Garmin Express™ program from a personal computer.

Own a Compatible Shimano STEPS eBike system

Install a D-FLY Wireless Transmitter

The other critical part is having a D-FLY Wireless Unit, like the EW-EN100, installed on the bike. This unit transmits the signal that a Garmin device will find and connect to.
