Merging an Existing ActiveCaptain Community Account Into a Garmin ActiveCaptain Account
Many ActiveCaptain Community accounts were created prior to ActiveCaptain being acquired by Garmin. If you have one of these accounts and would like to keep your ActiveCaptain Community name and points, you will need to follow the steps below at activecaptain.garmin.com
Create your Garmin account
1. Go to https://activecaptain.garmin.com/
2. Click on the profile icon in the upper right corner of the page
3. Account sign-in has changed, and you will need to create a Garmin account if you don’t have one; create an account by clicking “Create One”
Create your ActiveCaptain profile, and merge your account
1. After signing in, you’ll be prompted to create your ActiveCaptain profile
2. For your ActiveCaptain Name, use your previous Captain Name
3. You’ll see a new field ActiveCaptain Email and the following message: “This Captain Name has already been taken. To claim this Captain Name, please enter the login email associated to this account.”
4. Enter the email associated with your previous Captain Name in the ActiveCaptain Email field, and this will merge your prior account with your new account
5. Complete the rest of the profile
If you have already created a new Garmin account, you can merge your account now by selecting the link in your profile under your ActiveCaptain Name. (You won’t see this option if you’ve already merged another account)
1. Go to your profile by selecting the profile icon in the upper right corner of the page
2. Select Merge ActiveCaptain Account button
3. For your ActiveCaptain Name, use your previous Captain Name
4. Enter your ActiveCaptain Email associated with your previous Captain Name
5. Click the Merge Account button
*Adding reviews requires consent to be part of the ActiveCaptain Community. You can opt in or out at any time from your profile.
