Proper Cleaning of the Touchscreen on a Garmin Device
Touchscreen devices occasionally require cleaning.
When cleaning a touchscreen:
- Utilize a high-quality micro-cloth.
- NOTE: This type of cloth is used for cleaning eyeglasses.
- Look for a lint-free cloth that is soft with no ridges that will not scratch the screen.
- If your screen is particularly dirty, utilize a very small amount of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) cleaner or computer screen cleaner, isopropyl alcohol, eyeglass cleaner, or water.1
Proper care of your touchscreen will promote increased visibility and longevity for the touchscreen.
1 Most Garmin automotive devices do not have a water resistance rating of IPX7. Visit Garmin's water rating website for more information on what IPX7 means. Apply a very small amount of liquid directly to the cloth (not the screen) when cleaning the touchscreen.
