Asian Language Availability on Automotive Devices
All current Garmin automotive devices have the capability to announce turn-by-turn directions and view the text in Asian languages.
Due to the large character set required, Asian keyboards are not available on devices made for use outside of Asia. Mapping made for devices outside of Asia also will not have Asian text characters built into the mapping. Any search that includes Asian text characters will not return results.
The Languages Offered on These Devices are:
Chinese – Cantonese | 广东话 |
Chinese – Mandarin (simplified) | 简体中文 |
Chinese – Mandarin (traditional) | 繁體中文 |
Chinese – Hakka | 客家语 |
Japanese | 日本語 |
Korean | 한국어 |
Taiwanese – Hokkien | 閩南語 |
Thai | ไทย |
If these languages are not available on your device, you can download them using the Garmin Express program. Not every language will be compatible with every automotive device.
