How to Use Tacx Smart Trainers with Zwift

All Tacx® smart trainers are compatible with Zwift and can be connected using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or an ANT+ antenna (see Zwift Support - Pairing Your Devices for more details).

NOTE: The Tacx Bushido for Tablet is not compatible with Zwift. This trainer only works with the Tacx Training app. The Satori Smart cannot be paired as a "trainer" but can be paired as loose sensors (separate power, speed, and cadence sensors) to at least display recorded data from the trainer in Zwift. Press the small white button next to the flywheel on the Satori Smart for 2 seconds and the light will start to flash, at which point the loose sensors can be paired with Zwift.

Connection Issues After Free Trial Version of Zwift

After the free trial version, you may experience connection issues with the Zwift app when you use an Apple TV. If this occurs, you need to change the payment method. When this has been changed you will be able to log into Zwift and find the trainer.

How Do I Connect My Trainer With Zwift Using ANT+?

If your computer has built-in BLE or you are using an Apple TV, see Zwift Support - Pairing Your Devices. If your computer does not have built-in BLE, you need to have an ANT+ antenna.

It is very important to update the firmware on your smart trainer before connecting to Zwift (see: How Do I Update the Software on My Tacx Smart Trainer?). After updating your smart trainer, connect the trainer to Zwift via ANT+ by following these steps:

  1. Put the ANT+ antenna into the USB port on your computer and place the ANT+ antenna on the ground in front of the trainer. Make sure you have closed any Garmin applications, such as Garmin Express.

  2. Open Zwift and log in to your Zwift account.

  3. Select Search under the Controllable tile.

  4. Select your trainer.

  5. Select OK and the trainer will connect with Zwift. The power meter and cadence will be connected automatically with Zwift. If you want to use an external meter, then you can connect this as an individual sensor.
