Understanding Privacy Zones in Garmin Connect
In your Garmin Connect™ account you can create privacy zones around an address, such as your home, to hide your start point on publicly shared activities. It’ll also hide your end point if you finish inside the zone. You’ll always see your full route, but others will only see the middle of the route. To set up a Privacy Zone in Garmin Connect:
From a web browser sign into your Garmin Connect account.
Select Profile & Account in the top right corner:
Select Account Settings.
Select Privacy Settings.
Select + Add New Zone.
Enter an address or select a location on the map:
Type an address into the search bar.
Use the + and - buttons to zoom in or out on the map.
Click and drag the zone to move it to a different area on the map.
Adjust the bar for Zone Size to make the coverage area for the zone larger or smaller.
Select Save.
Once a privacy zone has been created, any publicly shared activities that start within the set zone will appear to others as starting at the perimeter of the privacy zone.
