Viewing Videos from an Automotive Device on the Computer

You can connect your device to the computer to view, transfer, or delete videos stored on the device's memory card.

To Locate the Video Files on a Windows Computer

1. Connect the device to your computer with the USB cable

2. Press the Windows key + E on the keyboard

3. Open This PC

  • Some computers skip this step

4. Open the drive associated with the device.

5. Open the drive associated with the memory card.

6. Open the DCIM folder

7. Open a Video folder

The recorded video will now be viewable on the computer in most third-party video players (I.E. Windows Media Player, VLC Player, etc.).

To Locate the Video Files on a Mac Computer

You can connect a Camper/RV 785, Campercam/RVcam 795, dezlCam 785, dezlCam LGV/OTR710, dēzlCam™ OTR725, and Garmin DriveCam™ 76 to a Mac computer. They will not appear as a drive on the desktop though. The device's internal files or an inserted SD card files cannot be accessed without additional software.

You can also insert the microSD card from the device into a card reader attached to your Mac. We suggest using a Windows computer to view the internal files if that is not an option. This includes any log files needed for troubleshooting.

NOTE: Devices with MTP Mode are prevented from appearing as a separate drive on a Mac computer.  For these devices, a Windows computer must be used.
