My Garmin Watch Speaker or Microphone is Quiet or Muffled
If the speaker or microphone on your Garmin® watch is quiet or muffled, there may be debris or water in ports of the watch. As a first step to resolving this issue, we suggest cleaning the body of your watch.
NOTE: We also recommend cleaning your watch after any water activity where the watch is submerged. While your Garmin watch is designed to be used in the water (swimming, water-based activities, showering/bathing), it could take up to 24 hours to completely evaporate and restore original performance. We recommend cleaning your watch after any water activity where the watch is submerged.
Be sure to follow the Proper Wear and Care guidelines, also listed below for the watch body, this will ensure proper cleaning and avoid causing any damage to the watch.
How Do I Clean the Body of the Watch?
Use water to rinse off or used a dampened lint-free cloth for cleaning.
IMPORTANT: Do not use soaps, solvents, detergents or household cleaners.
Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean debris away from charging contact points on the device.
IMPORTANT: Do not use the toothbrush to clean cavities or holes on the watch, especially on devices that have cavities for speakers and microphones.
Do not use sharp objects to clean the device, and never poke or prod any openings on the unit.
Do not use canned air to blow debris out of the sensor port.
