My Garmin Approach is Frozen on Saving at the End of My Activity
Garmin is aware of an issue where some users are experiencing the following symptoms:
- Garmin Connect App or Garmin Golf App will not complete a full sync
- Missing cards in the Garmin Connect App including
- Scorecards
- Steps
- Calories
This issue is related to our recent outage and occurs when the Approach has not completed a successful sync recently.
Instructions to Fix Issue
Android Phone Users: If your on iOS skip to step 2. You must adjust the screen timeout on your phone to not turn off. The Garmin Connect app must remain in the foreground during the sync. The sync process can take up to 10 minutes to complete. This phone setting is generally located under Settings>Display. If the phone screen turns off the sync will stop.
- Open the Garmin Connect app
- From the top right corner tap the sync icon
and wait for the sync to fully complete.
- The white progress circle around your device at the top of the app needs to finish. It may appear to stall at times but eventually it will complete the sync process.
- The screen of the phone must stay on and the app must remain visible until the sync is complete.
- Complete a second and third sync after the first sync is finished. Each sync should complete quicker that the first one.
Missing data should now display in your Garmin Connect account.
I was unable to complete a sync or my wellness data is still missing in Garmin Connect
If you were unable to successfully complete the steps above, we recommend that you sync your Approach using Garmin Express from a personal computer. Two successful syncs are required to resolve the issue.
What you will need
- USB charging cable
- Personal computer
- Your Garmin Connect account email and password
- Internet access
- Garmin Express version 7.0.2 for PC or 7.0.1 for Mac
Connect your Approach to your computer with the USB charging cable
Go to www.garmin.com/express
Select DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS or DOWNLOAD FOR MAC. This will install the latest version of the application which is required.
- Select your Approach

- Garmin Express will complete an initial sync
Review and accept any prompts for Terms and Conditions or Important Notes
Once complete, disconnect your device from the computer. If you have any available software updates go ahead and install them.
Reconnect Approach to the computer. A second sync will occur.
Missing data should display in your Garmin account shortly.
