Print the Map and Route Directions in BaseCamp

BaseCamp™ software will allow printing the turn by turn directions of a route on both PC and Mac versions.

Not all maps are printable. Some mapping license agreements restrict the option to print.

To Print a Route in BaseCamp Software:

Windows:

1. Choose the Pan or Select tool
2. Double-click the route to print
3. Click Print in the lower right and a print setup box will appear
4. Click Page Setup
5. Check mark the box next to Route Directions
6. Click OK
7. Click Print to print a copy of the map and turn-by-turn directions

Mac OS X:

1. Choose the Selector or Hand tool
2. Double-click the route to print
3. Choose the Print tab in the box that appears
4. Select Print Directions or Print Map

Once the print option has been selected, both the maps and directions of the selected route will be printed.

To get a Simplified Waypoint by Waypoint List, Set the Route's Profile to 'Direct':

Windows:

1. Choose the Pan or Select tool
2. Double-click the route to select it.
3. To the right of the route's name, change the profile to 'direct'. The route will recalculate. 
4. Click Print in the lower right and a print setup box will appear
5. Click Page Setup
6. Check mark the box next to Route Directions
7. Click OK
8. Click Print to print a copy of the map and turn-by-turn directions.

Mac OS X:

1. Choose the Selector or Hand tool
2. Double-click the route to select it, a box with the route's information will open
3. In the upper right hand corner of the box, select the route's activity being used
4. Change the route's activity to 'direct'. The route will recalculate.
5. Click Print in the route information box
6. Select Print Directions or Print Map

NOTE: Routes set to 'direct' will create a straight line route between points. This allows Basecamp to print the route as a list of Waypoints instead of directions.
