Unstructured Riding With Tacx Trainers

The ability to record an unstructured or "free" ride will depend on the app or device that is connected to the Tacx® trainer. Choose a product below to reveal options:

Tacx Training App and Tacx Training Desktop App

When using the Tacx Training™ app or the Tacx Training™ Desktop app, a ride can only be recorded by following a workout or course. These applications do not allow you to record a "free ride" by simply pressing start then riding. A simple alternative would be to follow a manual slope or power workout.

Slope and Power workouts are simple workout options that allow you to set a specific grade % of a climb or wattage, respectively, where the trainer matches the set resistance. This number can be adjusted manually at any time during the workout using + / - buttons within the workout dashboard.

  1. Open the Tacx Training app.

  2. Pair your Tacx smart trainer under Settings > Device Manager.

  3. Return to the Dashboard on the app.

  4. Select either Power to choose a specific wattage to use or Slope to choose a specific Grade % of a climb to use.

  5. Increase or decrease the values by using the - or + buttons.

  6. Select Start Now to begin your workout.

  7. You can adjust the setting during the workout by selecting the - or + again, as needed.

  8. Once finished, select Stop and then Save to record the workout to your account.
