Using the Compass on a zumo Series Device

The following list of devices have a dedicated compass app that allows you to view your heading and bearing as well as other details. To access the compass, touch Apps on the main menu then touch Compass.

  • zumo 350, zumo 390, zumo 395, zumo 396, zumo 590, and zumo 595
  • BMW Motorrad Navigator Street, BMW Motorrad Navigator V, and BMW Motorrad Navigator VI
  • Can-Am Spyder zumo 590LM
  • Harley Davidson Roadtech zumo 590LM

The compass will rotate to indicate your heading (the direction you are currently traveling). The heading will update as you change direction but will not know if you simply turn in place since it does not have a 3-axis compass.

When the zumo is in an active route, the compass will also display an arrow that indicates your bearing, or the direction in which your destination is located.

The zumo compass app also provides you with two data fields.

These data fields can be customized to display from the following options:

  • Bearing1
  • Heading
  • Speed
  • Elevation
  • Time of Day
  • Sunrise/Sunset
  • Location
  • GPS Accuracy
  • Trip A
  • Trip B
  • Fuel Level
  • Direction2
  • Max. Speed2
  • Moving Avg.2
  • Overall Avg.2
  • Stopped2
  • Moving Time2
  • Total Time2
  • Fuel Range2

To change the data being displayed in either data field, touch the data field then touch the desired item.

1This option is only available on the BMW Motorrad Navigator Street, zumo 350 and zumo 390.

2These options are only available on the Can-Am Spyder zumo 590, Harley Davidson Roadtech zumo 590, zumo 395, zumo 396, zumo 590, and zumo 595.
