Loading maps to a fenix, tactix, or fenix 2

With the fenix, tactix, and fenix 2 it is possible to load maps to this device. Please note that this method of map installation is not supported by Garmin, as the Fenix series is not designed to be compatible with any detailed mapping. To load maps, you can use either Garmin MapSource or MapInstall. If using MapInstall, the map image file must be renamed manually after loading.

To rename the image file:

1. Connect the device to the computer
2. Select the Garmin drive
3. Select the Garmin folder
4. Find the recently loaded map image file
5. Rename the file to the following: gmapsupp.img

MapSource will automatically name the file correctly and no changes will be needed.
