How to Install Replacement Montana 7xx Series Mount Dampers
Use the steps below to replace the mount dampers for the Montana® 700, 700i, or 750i outdoor handheld.
Removing Existing Mount Dampers
If used, loosen the security screw.
Press the button on the mount cradle to release the Montana device, then lift the device out of the mount cradle.
Remove the base plate from the handlebar or suction cup base.
Remove the 4 screws and nuts that hold the base plate to the mount cradle.
Remove the 4 bushings.
Remove the 4 dampers.
Installing New Mount Dampers
Install the 4 dampers in the back of the mount cradle.
Add the 4 bushings.
Thread the screws through the washers, dampers, bushings, base plate and secure with the nuts.
Attach the base plate to the handlebar or suction cup base.
Align the contacts on the Montana device with the contacts in the mount, and place the side of the device into the cradle, contacts first.
Tilt the device to the opposite side until it snaps into place to prevent the device from falling out.
You can use the security screw tool that came with the mount to tighten the security screw on the side of the mount.
NOTE: The security screw is used to deter device theft and helps prevent accidentally pressing the release latch.
