WiFi trouble shooting- WatchMate® XB8000/Vision
If the WatchMate® XB-80000 is having connectivity issues with wifi there are a few steps to check:
Is the 'VesperXB' Wi-Fi network from a PC/Laptop?
If the 'VesperXB' Wi-Fi network to connect, then reboot (power cycle) the XB and see if that makes any difference.
If not, then connect to the XB using vmAIS through USB serial connection. It can download vmAIS PC utility from vmAIS config and drivers in the downloads section. The utility is available for both Windows and Mac platforms. Go to the Wi-Fi tab and check the SSID & password. Once checked some additional steps to check as well.
Uncheck/mark the option "Enable Wi-Fi" and then check mark it again and see if the 'VesperXB' Wi-Fi network is seen
Click on "Reset to Factory Settings" and see if that makes any difference
Uncheck mark the option "Configure as an Access Point". XB can scan the other Wi-Fi networks nearby. Use the mobile phone to scan the other Wi-Fi networks nearby and match with the XB scan. If the phone can scan other Wi-Fi networks and if the XB can't scan, contact Garmin Marine product support for further assistance
