Garmin Automotive Devices with a QWERTY Keyboard

By default, your automotive device uses the QWERTY format for its on-screen keyboard. This is a layout that is commonly used on English-language computer keyboards.

If you have your device set to a different language, you may need to change the keyboard language to adjust the format.

To Change the Keyboard Language:

1. Touch Settings
2. Touch Language and Keyboard
3. Touch Keyboard Language
4. Select the desired keyboard language
5. Touch Save

If you do not see your desired keyboard language, you may install additional languages to your device using Garmin Express.

To Install Additional Language Files:

1. Download and install the Garmin Express application
   • For instructions to install Garmin Express, see  How Do I Install Garmin Express?.
     
2. Connect the device to your computer
3. Click Tools & Content
4. Click the Utilities tab
   
5. Scroll down to Optional Updates
6. Click Language Files
7. Select the desired language(s)
   
8. Scroll down and click Install Now

Once the language file is installed, you can change the keyboard language on your device.
