Adding or Removing Location Links to SMS Messages Sent from the Garmin Messenger App

To add or remove location link to an SMS text message sent from the Garmin Messenger app, you need to tap the location icon prior to sending the message:

• - Location icon for SMS text message location link is On.

• - Location icon for SMS text message location link is Off.

Turning location off for composed messages will also turn location off for check-in or preset messages.

NOTE: When sending a message with location in the Garmin Messenger app, the position data for the message is derived from the smartphone's location services and not from the paired inReach device. The position format for latitude and longitude coordinates sent in SMS messages is set to Decimal Degrees (WGS84) and cannot be changed.
