Batteries Dying or Draining Quickly in the Xero Bow Sights

If the batteries in the Xero® A1, Xero® A1i, or Xero® A1i PRO bow sight appear to be dying rapidly, here are a few things to check:

  • Ensure you are on the latest software version. Review the Related Content section at the bottom of the page for instructions.
  • Make sure to use lithium AAA batteries only. Alkaline batteries are not supported.
  • Adjust the backlight to a lower level or shorter timeout.
  • Only range (press and hold the trigger button) when necessary. Constant ranging draws the most power and can cause the battery meter to temporarily dip lower than the actual battery life.
    • Leaving the device to sit briefly will give it time to recover and reflect a more accurate battery level;
    • Or, powering the unit off and back on will cause it to reread the battery level and display it more accurately.

Following these steps will ensure long lasting battery life in your Xero bow sight.
