Managing Phone Calls on the Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa
The OK Garmin voice control function can be used to make or receive calls on the Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa.
'OK Garmin' Phone Calls have a Couple of Restrictions:
- OK Garmin may not be used to call phone numbers or points of interest
- OK Garmin can't initiate a call if you are connected to your vehicle Bluetooth
- OK Garmin calls should work if using AUX
Making a Call
To make a call, say "OK Garmin, call" then state the name of a saved contact.
If there is only one result available, the device will show the result with a Call button. The button will show a scrolling darker color and will automatically place the call through your phone when the scroll bar reaches the right edge of the button. You may also press the Call button to place the call.
To cancel the call, say "Cancel" before the scroll bar completes.
If multiple contact options appear, OK Garmin will prompt "Which result would you like to call?" State the number next to the desired contact, or press the name of the contact, then press Call. The scroll bar will not appear.
Receiving and Controlling a Call
If you receive a call, say "OK Garmin, answer" or press the Answer button to answer the call. To ignore it, say "OK Garmin, ignore" or press the Ignore button.
Once the call is in progress, any media playing through Alexa will pause.
OK Garmin may not be used to control a call in progress. You may transfer the call to your handset by pressing the Handset button, and press Mute to mute the microphone; you will continue to receive audio from the call and from navigation if active.
To hang up the call, press End.
