Using the HRM-Pro and HRM-Pro Plus With a Garmin Foot Pod

The Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) based pace and distance features uses the same ANT+ communication channel as the Garmin Foot Pod so only one can be the source of pace and distance.

If the Foot Pod is already connected, the HRM can still connect to your watch but only heart rate and running dynamics will be recorded. The source of pace and distance will come from the Foot Pod. You can see whether running pace and distance is coming from your HRM by accessing the Sensors & Accessories menu in your watch. The HRM Pace & Distance will be ‘grayed out’ and you will not be able to select it unless it is the source of running pace and distance.

To use the HRM running and distance feature if you also have a Foot Pod, set the Foot Pod status of Off or remove the Foot Pod from the list of paired sensors in the menu of your watch.

NOTICE: HRM-Pro™, HRM-Pro™ Plus, and HRM-Fit™ monitor users, the first time you disable or remove the Foot Pod from your watch, you may also need to toggle the status of the  monitor off and on to prompt the strap to connect the pace and distance feature.
