(2014) Service Alert 1472: Momentary Lateral Shifting Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) on the PFD and Change in FMS-Coupled AFCS Mode
PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
Embraer Phenom 100/300 (Prodigy system) with GDU software version 13.04 and 14.02 are affected.
ISSUE:
Pilot actions may result in a momentary lateral shift of SVT on the PFD, accompanied by a change in FMS-coupled AFCS modes.
PILOT ACTION:
Do not perform the following actions during critical phases of flight (e.g. short final):
- Make changes to a flight plan
- Activate a flight plan leg or a Direct-To
- Select OBS mode or change OBS course
- Access the TMR/REF page
If a change in FMS-coupled AFCS mode is observed, select the desired AFCS mode.
NOTE:
Initiating a go-around or missed approach during critical phases of flight may result in a momentary lateral shift of SVT on the PFD. Initiating a go-around or missed approach will also result in the AFCS transitioning to GA mode. This AFCS transition is normal and no additional pilot action is required.
