Deleting Data and Messages From the Garmin Explore Website

The Garmin Explore™ website allows you to delete unwanted data and messages from your account.

IMPORTANT: Any data deleted from a Garmin Explore website account is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Only delete data that is unwanted and unneeded.


Deleting Data From the Library

Deleting Tracks

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select MAP.
    NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then MAP.

  3. Select Tracks.

  4. Select the Tracks tab.

  5. Select the track to delete.

    TIP: Use CTRL+Click (Windows), Command+Click (Mac), or Shift+Click (Windows/Mac) to select multiple items.

  6. Select Trash Can Iconin the track summary.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.

NOTE: If the track you are attempting to delete is also listed in a Collection, the track will also be deleted from that collection.

The selected track will now be deleted from the Library.

Deleting Waypoints

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select MAP.
    NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then MAP.

  3. Select Waypoints.

  4. Select the Waypoints tab.

  5. Select a waypoint to delete.

    TIP: Use CTRL+Click (Windows), Command+Click (Mac), or Shift+Click (Windows/Mac) to select multiple items.

  6. Select Trash Can Icon next to the waypoint(s) to delete.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected waypoint(s) will now be deleted from the Library.

Deleting Routes 

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select MAP.
    NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then MAP.

  3. Select Routes.

  4. Select the Routes tab.

  5. Select a route to delete.

    TIP: Use CTRL+Click (Windows), Command+Click (Mac), or Shift+Click (Windows/Mac) to select multiple items.

  6. Select Trash Can Icon next to the route(s) to delete.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected route(s) will now be deleted from the Library.

Deleting Courses

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select MAP.

    NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then MAP.

  3. Select Courses.

  4. Select the Courses tab.

  5. Select a course to delete.

    TIP: Use CTRL+Click (Windows), Command+Click (Mac), or Shift+Click (Windows/Mac) to select multiple items.

  6. Select Trash Can Icon next to the route(s) to delete.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected course(s) will now be deleted from the Library.

Deleting Activies

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select MAP. NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then MAP.

  3. Select Activities.

  4. Select the Activities tab.

  5. Select an activity to delete. TIP: Use CTRL+Click (Windows), Command+Click (Mac), or Shift+Click (Windows/Mac) to select multiple items.

  6. Select Trash Can Icon next to the activity or activities to delete.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected Activity will now be deleted from the Library.


Deleting Unorganized

The Unorganized category is where new data that has not been assigned to a collection appears.

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select MAP. NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then MAP.

  3. Select Unorganized.

  4. Select the tab for the data you wish to delete.

  5. Select items to delete. TIP: Use the top box to select all items in the list, or individually select each box next to an item.

  6. Select Delete.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected data will now be deleted from the Library.


Deleting Messages From the Inbox

NOTE: These steps are only applicable when using devices with inReach® satellite communicator messaging capabilities.

Deleting a Single Message

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select INBOX.

    NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then INBOX.

  3. Under People, select the contact thread to delete messages from.

  4. Select Trash Can Icon next to the message to be deleted.

  5. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected message will now be deleted.


Deleting a Conversation Thread

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select INBOX.

    NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then INBOX.

  3. Under People, select the contact thread to delete messages from.

  4. Select Trash Can Icon to remove the entire conversation thread for that person.

  5. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected conversation thread will now be deleted.


Deleted items may reappear after syncing your Earthmate® app compatible inReach® satellite communicator. If this happens, see Deleted Data Reappearing on the Map of the Garmin Explore Website.

NOTE: Changes made to collections sync settings after data has been synced to a device will not delete that original data from the device after doing another sync. For steps on deleting data from the device, see your device owner's manual.
