Capacitive Touchscreen Is Not Responding on an Automotive Device
Capacitive touchscreens are touch-sensitive screens. These screens sense electrical impulses from a fingertip. Styluses may not work.
The touchscreen is automatically calibrated each time the device turns on. There is no manual calibration option. A soft reset can be done to ensure the device is getting turned off and on to properly to calibrate the screen.
To Perform a Soft Reset:
- Connect the device to the powered mount
- An A/C adapter or automotive power cable may also be used
- Press and hold the power button and slowly count to 20
See Updating Automotive Maps and Software with Garmin Express if your touchscreen is not responding correctly to update the software.
