Pairing Keep Away Tags with the Canine App

A Keep Away Tag creates an alert zone anywhere from 6 inches to 15 feet* (line of sight) designated as a “no-go” area for your dog. Use this device to help deter pets from accessing undesired areas such as trash cans or flower beds.

Each dog can have up to 30 tags added. The battery life of the tag is up to 3 months.

To pair Keep Away Tags to Dog Device with the Garmin Canine™ App:

NOTE: Effective September 1, 2022 the Garmin Canine app is no longer available to download from the play stores for either Android or Apple.

1. Install the battery in the sensor
2. Go to www.garmin.com/apps, and download the Garmin Canine app to your smartphone
3. Open the Garmin Canine app on your smartphone
   
   • If necessary, follow the on-screen instructions to pair the collar with your smartphone
4. Touch Tags in the app
5. Touch the desired dog (if more than one has been added)
6. Touch Add Tag
7. Bring your smartphone within 3m/10ft of the sensor and the device
   • Stay 10m/33ft away from other sensors while pairing
   • The tags will have restricted range if inside a box or container.
8. Hold the sensor and dog collar device together
9. Touch Find

When the sensor and device are paired, a message appears that shows the ID number from the back of the tag, you can then name the tag as you would like. Repeat steps 4-9 to add additional tags.

After making changes to the device, adding tags or updating tags the collar will flash Purple/Red to indicate the change was successful.
