Factory Reset
NOTE: Resetting a watch will disconnect it from the Connect app but not Bluetooth settings, see How do I Remove a Device from the Garmin Connect App? for steps on how to remove it.
- Delete potentially corrupt files from the unit (to prevent the loss of user data sync with Garmin Express):
- Open the device as a storage drive on the computer1
- Open the Garmin folder
- Delete the GPX and Activity folders if present
- Make sure to empty the Trash if on a Mac
- If the unit is still not functioning properly, attempt to perform a master reset (or factory reset) on the device. Refer to your Owner's Manual for steps on resetting the watch.
1 The D2 Delta Series, Enduro, fenix 5 Plus Series, fenix 6 Series, MARQ Collection, and tactix Delta will not mount as a drive on a Mac computer, and you will not be able to access the drive to remove files.
