Setting Up My Garmin DriveTrack to Track My Dogs

These steps walk you through setting up your Garmin dog tracking handheld and Garmin DriveTrack™ GPS navigator so you can track your dogs on a larger screen.

Setting Up the Garmin DriveTrack and Dog Tracking Handheld

These steps work with the Alpha® and Astro® handhelds along with the Garmin DriveTrack 70 LMT and Garmin DriveTrack 71 GPS navigators.

NOTE: If you previously had your DriveTrack navigator tracking dogs from another dog tracking handheld you may want to remove that handheld from the Dog List on the navigator before proceeding. See DriveTrack 70 or DriveTrack 71 Lost Connection to Dog Tracker for unpairing instructions if needed.

On the Garmin DriveTrack Navigator

  1. Go to the main menu of the Garmin DriveTrack navigator.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Usage Mode.
  4. Select Dog Tracking.
  5. Select Save.

If your Garmin DriveTrack navigator is within range of your dog tracking handheld and there is a dog actively tracking on the handheld, you should see that information on your Garmin DriveTrack navigator's Dog List as well.
