Chrysler UConnect Navigation System displays "PND Did not Update" error message

If you receive the error message "PND did not update" when trying to update the maps on a Chrysler Uconnect system, first ensure the software update has been installed prior to starting the map update process. Also ensure the map update instructions have been followed in the correct order.

If all is correct, follow the steps below to perform a sleep cycle on the radio:

  1. Make sure all the vehicle lights are off
  2. Turn off the vehicle
  3. Remove the keys from the ignition
  4. Open and shut the vehicle door
  5. Wait for at least 5 minutes
  6. Start the vehicle
  7. Try updating the map again

The map update should continue.

If the steps above do not correct the issue follow the steps below to pull the fuse for the radio:

  1. Shut down the vehicle
  2. Locate the IOD (Ignition off-draw) fuse in the engine compartment. Pull the IOD fuse out (you don't need to pull it out all the way, the fuse is designed to be pulled halfway out)
    • This fuse is used mainly when drivers want to store the vehicle long-term without draining the battery.
  3. Re-insert the fuse
  4. Start the vehicle
  5. Try updating the map again

The Map Update should continue.

If the steps above do not correct the issue there may be a problem with the SD card. First verify the SD card is not in the lock position. See  Verifying a Chrysler Uconnect Update SD Card is in the Unlock Position for more information.

If the issue is not resolved, you will need to contact HERE to exchange the SD card.

If you continue to have the issue with a replacement SD card, you will need to return to the dealer to have your UConnect system serviced.
