Older Garmin Mapping with Newer Garmin Outdoor Handhelds
The systems in newer Garmin Outdoor handheld devices have been updated and map configurations have also been improved. As such, third-party maps and some older Garmin maps are not compatible with these newer devices.
Receiving a "Cannot Authenticate Maps" error message on the handheld may indicate that you are using an incompatible map.
NOTE: This article applies to Garmin mapping only. We do not test third-party mapping and therefore cannot guarantee or assist in its functionality with our devices.
