Understanding the LED Colors on the Garmin Speak or Garmin Speak Plus

Important:  The Garmin Speak™ app can no longer be installed and has been replaced by the Garmin Drive™ App. To download the Garmin Drive app, visit Google Play for Android or App Store for Apple.

The Garmin Speak and Garmin Speak Plus have an LED ring that displays different colors depending on the device status. The meaning of some colors may change depending on the icon displayed. See Error Symbols in the owner's manual for more info.


Red:

 The microphone is muted. After five seconds, the icon will turn off, leaving a red ring without an icon

  

Yellow:

The app is not open on the phone; no connection between device and app

The phone is not paired or connected to the device

The connected phone has little to no internet connection

Speed Limit exceeded


Orange:

The device in pairing mode (rotating light)

 

Dark blue and cyan:

The device booting (rotating light)

Amazon Alexa waiting for a command

Amazon Alexa interpreting a command (rotating light)

Amazon Alexa responding to a command

The device in  standby mode


White:

Current volume; volume adjustment (partial ring showing volume level)


Green:

 Upcoming turn in navigation


Magenta:

Incoming call


Garmin Speak Plus only:

Wi-fi connection pending

Forward collision warning

Left lane departure warning

 Right lane departure warning
