How to Read Your Training Status Report in Garmin Connect

The Training Status report in the Garmin Connect™ program is designed to show various training metrics, including VO2 Max, Exercise Load, the 7-Day Total Training Load, current Training Status, and current Training Load Focus. The Training Status report will only display the information metrics that were actually measured by your selected device for the selected period. You can customize the report to display 4-week, 6-month, or 1-year periods. If there were multiple devices associated to your account for a selected period, you can select a specific device to display its data.

NOTE: Although the Exercise Load and VO2 Max measurements remain the same regardless of which device you select, the 7-Day Training Load, Training Status, and Training Load Focus measurements will display only those values that were measured by the selected device.

Training Status Report With No Status

If you select a device and a timeframe during which time the selected device did not measure any Exercise Load and also did not measure a Training Status, the Training Status report may show as empty.

Training Status Report Showing No Status or Detraining Status

If you own only an Edge® cycling computer but do not use a power meter, you may see a Training Status report infrequently at times when your Edge device actually measures a Training Status. Edge devices that do not have a paired power meter, however, can only report a Training Status when the device measures a “No Status” or “Detraining” status. This may occur after periods of a week or more without any activities.
