Troubleshooting Syncing Issues with the Garmin Catalyst™ Driving Performance Optimizer
See the troubleshooting below if you are unable to sync your Garmin Catalyst™ data with the Garmin Catalyst™ App.
The Garmin Catalyst™ app may display the message "Where's my stuff?" Select this message and follow the on-screen troubleshooting steps.
See the additional troubleshooting below if the issue continues.
Verify Driver Profile is Tied to a Garmin Account
Verify the driver profile you are attempting to sync is tied to a Garmin account. Ensure you are logging into the same account in the Garmin Catalyst™ app and Garmin Catalyst™ device. See the links below for more info on syncing data.
NOTE: Once session data is synced to one Garmin account, it cannot be resynced to another account. This prevents users from syncing data that is not theirs and duplicate data in the Track Leaderboards.

- Synchronizing Session Data with Your Garmin Account
- Using the Garmin Catalyst with the Garmin Catalyst App
Minimum Password Requirements
See Minimum and Maximum Password Lengths for Wi-Fi Networks for more information.
Wi-Fi Specifications
NOTES: Hidden Networks are not compatible. Captive Portals are not compatible with the Garmin Catalyst. See Using a Wi-Fi Device on a Captive Portal.
Below are the Wi-Fi-related specifications for Garmin automotive devices with Wi-Fi capability. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) can be used as long as it meets the following requirements.
Supported Frequency: 2.4 GHz only
Security: Unencrypted, WEP, WPA, and WPA2
Acquire a Satellite Signal
The time displayed on your device must be accurate to properly communicate with our update services. This time is automatically set when you receive a satellite signal.
- Take the device outside in clear view of the sky until it obtains a satellite signal
- The signal bars at the top of the Drive and Review screen indicate satellite signal strength
- A satellite signal should not be necessary for future updates if the time is displayed accurately on the device
See Garmin Catalyst Isn't Acquiring Satellites if your device is unable to acquire a satellite signal.
Latest System Software
Ensure the latest system software is installed for the best device performance. See Wireless Track and Software Update Instructions.
Updates can be installed with Garmin Express if you are unable to successfully complete these updates via Wi-Fi.
High-Speed Internet Connection
A wireless connection to home high-speed internet (Fiber, Cable, DSL, etc.) is required to successfully complete a Wi-Fi update.
- Connections with data caps or restrictions should not be used due to the update size
- Slower connections (satellite, fixed wireless, dial-up, etc.) and mobile broadband (MiFi, AirCard, cell phone tethering, etc.) should not be used
External Power
External power is required to perform a Wi-Fi update. See External Power Options for Wireless Updates.

Reset the Wi-Fi Router
There may be a problem with your internet connection if the update is stopped, slow, or disconnecting.
- A common troubleshooting tool is to reset your Wi-Fi router
- This can generally be done by unplugging the router for 30 seconds and then reconnecting
- Additional troubleshooting can be done with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if your wireless router continues to encounter network connectivity issues
Contact Product Support if these steps do not correct the issue.
