Adding a Prepayment for inReach Subscriptions

Placing a prepayment on your inReach® subscription account gives you peace of mind.

Whether you plan on traveling in a more remote location or for an an extended amount of time, adding a prepayment to your account provides security in knowing that your service will not be interrupted if for any reason your credit card was to expire, be replaced, or be declined by your credit card company.

If you would like to place a prepayment on your account, you may do so through the Garmin website or through the Garmin Messenger™ app.

NOTE: The account will continue to be billed after prepayment has been depleted. To ensure this does not cause an issue, make sure to add enough funds for your needs.


Adding a Prepayment Using the Garmin Website

  1. Log in to the Subscription Portal.

  2. Select MANAGE for the inReach subscription you want to update.

  3. Under BILLING, select MAKE PREPAYMENT.

  4. If prompted, enter your email and password and select SIGN IN.

  5. Enter an amount in the field under MAKE PAYMENT.

  6. Re-enter the security code for your saved payment method.

  7. Select COMPLETE.


Adding a Prepayment Using the Garmin Messenger App

NOTE: The following process only works with Garmin Messenger app compatible devices.

  1. Open the Garmin Messenger app.

  2. Select Device.

    • If Device is not displayed at the bottom of the app, you will need to pair your inReach device.

  3. Select your current plan type below the picture of your inReach device.

  4. Select Update Billing Info.

  5. Enter an amount in the field under MAKE PAYMENT.

  6. Re-enter the security code for your saved payment method.

  7. Select COMPLETE.
