Why is the Message Icon Missing in the Garmin Explore App?

The Garmin Explore™ app must be paired and connected to an active inReach® compatible device for messaging functions to be available. When an active inReach compatible device is paired, a message icon will be displayed at the bottom of the app.

If no inReach compatible device has been paired, or if the pairing is removed, the message icon will be missing from the app. This can be resolved by pairing an inReach compatible device in the app. For instructions, see - Pairing Instructions for Garmin Explore Compatible Handhelds.
